I've just been speaking to the Ex out in Spain. He and his best mate went for breakfast at the Black Cat in Lloc Nou. When all the other patrons had left and just as they were about to leave themselves, Tony's BM asked the lady proprietor (who'd closed the kitchen by that point), "Could you go and cook a sausage for Alfie please?"

And she did!! lol

I'm sorry, but that made me laugh my socks off.

AAwww, that's nice - you must miss him, NoM. My fat cats all had bacon rind this morning, much licking of whiskers afterwards!

I bet Alfie enjoyed his sausage. Bet you miss him loads - they really are loyal and loving animals - and walking bin disposal units.

I miss him like crazy, Boxy. He's one spoilt little doggy!
Talking of fat cats - I am sure that Frankie is growing man boobs. Not very becoming on a cat. It may be just his colouring that makes him look fat - black where he should be white and visa versa.

I did bring him back with me, Helen. About a week after I drove back (end of May), Tony flew back to sort out some legal stuff and stayed in Brum for the whole summer. After much soul searching, I decided he would be better off with Tony for the time being, until I'm more settled here. Tony took Alfie back at the end of August.

Moobs on a cat, eh? He'll be getting tattoos and a mohican next !
The good thing is that Alfie is with somebody who loves him and who understands how much you love him. He is a lucky little chap.
Wolf, my tabbies have just been for their annual check-up and jabs. The vet said of No.1 son - "he's rather overweight" - until she actually got hold of him and felt his ribs, then she said "no, he's just a big cat"! He turns the scales at 5.9 kilos, Rover topped 5.99k last week. When they sit on the soft, there's no room for humans.

He is a lucky boy. He had a really hard start in life, being abandoned and he was 2 weeks from death by starvation when he was found wandering the old town of Oliva.
Will you bring him back again, NoM, when you get your own place (wherever)?
LOL NoMerc, don't you think I'm confused enough? You trying to confuffle my already addled brain? :-)

Reading the topic I'm thinking Alfie is you wee dogie, how the heck he cooked breakfast? Then I read further... lol

It all depends on work patterns I guess. I didn't think it fair for Alfie to be on his own all day when I was at work. I hope to be able to sort something out in the near future so he can come back and live with his mum.
NOM - my last cat was a stray and he was in terrible shape too. He was an old and very grumpy cat but he had a good final 5 years.

Boxtops - I think that Frankie is a labrador in a cat body - he guzzles everything. He was on injected steroids for a while for his asthma and they gave him the munchies. He has been on the steroid inhaler for about 9 months so he shouldn't be so hungry. But I feel sorry for him and give him little treats. Last time he was weighed he was 5kg but that was a few months ago.

Princess Merlin never seems to eat and resembles a small highland cow - long haired and fierce.

Society... my brain was a little addled this morning, too.

One of Alf's favourite breakfasts is scrambled eggs. He goes potty for them.
LOL wolf, I can see princess in my mind now! Mine are all different - Black Spot (like Alfie) is partial to a sausage. Chopped up and cooled, of course!
Question Author
Wolf... I'm pleased to hear your grumpy moggy had a loving home in the end.

I've seen more dead puppies on the side of the roads in Spain that I could ever have imagined I would.
I can't imagine how somebody could abandon or hurt an animal. There are a lot of callous and cruel people in the world.

They should be sterilised so that they are unable to have children who turn out as they did.
Question Author
I actually found 3 dead puppies on the beach one morning when I was walking Alf. 2 of them were only as big as my hand, poor little mites. They'd clearly been drowned.
