Bought a pot plant in April and it was in full bloom. I have repotted and it is doing well apart from the blooms now have seen better days. Can I chop these off to encourage more to grow? Thanks!

You will not get any more flowers by chopping off the heads this year, wait untill early next spring then prune off last season's flower heads to about the first pair of healthy buds below the old flower head.
It`s always best to leave the heads on to protect the plant from sever frosts come the winter.
