False Teeth

I had four front lower teeth removed last Thursday and would like to know when should I put my false molars in without doing harm to the stitches or hurting myself, cus I`m living on mashed food like a baby at the moment and I`m starving. I have a full upper set longing to get stuck in to a nice well done steak.

Did you have the four front teeth added to the lower denture at the time of extraction, or does the denture not sit near the extraction site?
If the denture does not sit near the extraction site, then I can see no problem at all in wearing it. Even if you have had the front teeth added to the denture already, as long as the denture is not painful when you wear it, then you will not do any harm to either the sockets or the sutures. If anything, the newly added teeth will help protect the healing sockets. Keep rinsing your mouth with warm salty water, and all should settle very quickly!

J9PUR, Many thanks for your helpful reply. No I didn`t have any more dentures added at the time as I had it done at Poole General Hospital in Dorset, and the dentist said for me to have my plate added to in six months time. What bothers me is food will get under my plate more easily now due to the gap where my teeth were.
It's difficult to comment on a specific case, but it seems a little strange that your dentist is not going to add the teeth to the denture for 6 months?
After having teeth extracted, the bone and gum will shrink and remodel for up to 6 months. This is why sometimes definative treatment is delayed. Thus when the teeth are added, they are placed onto a stable foundation. However, it seems a little unfair for you to walk around for 6 months with no front teeth.
Possible alternative that you could discuss with your dentist are:
a) Having a temporary denture made that you can use for the next 6 months
b) Having the teeth added to the denture now, and then relining the denture after 6 months to account for any bone shrinkage
c) Having the teeth added to the denture now, and then removing them after 6 months and replacing them with another four teeth to account for any bony shrinkage.
