Tricky one this, isn't it?

I'd like to think that the perpetrators of the attacks have four legs and not two? If so, and the snipers spot them, I'd also prefer it if they, the snipers, opened fire to scare as opposed to kill.

After all, foxes, for example, are only doing what comes natural to foxes, are they not? They wouldn't know that the penguins are an endangered species, as if they'd care anyway!

But should the culprits have two legs, I'd say aim for the whites of the eyes!

So you'd not blast the head off a fox if it was killing your chickens then?
Question Author
I don't have any chickens..........but if I did,no I wouldn't blast the head off the fox,I would chase it away with a big stick or something similar.........or at least my OH would as I don't get around too quickly these days.lol
My nan and Granddad used to have a lovely big house in the country, and kept about 70 chickens. When the fox kept getting in and killing them, he waited up all night one night, with his shotgun, and eventually got the little bu66er !
Fox are vermin and unlike other animals don't just kill for food (which is natural). A fox will get into a henhouse, slaughter everything in sight, and go away with one hen to eat......I'd shoot the lot of them.

And there was me thinking you were both such demure little things?Hee hee.

I think that Smart car's driving you round the bend, craft! Chuckle, chuckle.
Paraffin - I saw the headless torsos of those 30 or so chickens strewn across the hen house in the morning. Foxes kill for sport more than anything else. x
been round there long before the Smart car paraffin.....I do get annoyed (silly really) about attitudes regarding foxes. My family farmed in North Yorkshire so like NoM I have first hand experience of what foxes can do. The majority of people who defend them have never set foot outside town.

We're not talking about chicken coops here: that's a totally different scenario to this. And keeping this subject in perspective, would obviously require a different solution.
Foxes dont kill for sport, they faced with a huge amont of food then kill as much as they can then take their kills off and bury/store them for later.
i feed foxes nearly every night and watch them go back and forth with small amounts of food each time.
