one of my 3 cats, Cache-Cache,  is having a bad problem.  he had to be treated by the vet for a crystalized urine problem,  its all taken care of but since he got home he is pooping in my bath tub.  why would he do this?  hes never done it before.  any suggestions?

Yep...got a bit of an idea on this one. When a cat has a painful experience, such as cystitis which if you've had you'll know is like trying to pee red hot needles..(youch!) then the cat will sometimes associate this painful experience in the place that it happened & will assume that if he does it there again, that it will hurt again.

If you can provide a litter tray containing a different type of litter & put it in the bathroom at first & then wherever you'd prefer him to go, then this may work. Also, leave a little water in the bath to put him off using it! This seems to be a common place for cats to poop if they are looking for an alternative loo for some reason.

prob not relevant, but my when we went out and my cat was left in the house he would use the bath as a toilet coz he knew not to do it on the carpet or anywhere in the house, it was something he started his self and always done till he passed away
