Help with Cat Port

My freind has a seven year old cat and has recently purchased, at considerable expence, a Cat Port automatic cat door. The cat refuses to go through the door in either direction despite her trying numerous methods to tempt her through. Anyone got similar problem or any ideas?Also how do i post an acknowledgement or thank you on this site.many thanks.

Its common for cats to dislike new cat flaps of any variety. We had that problemwith our 2 last year.
In the end, we did as my old boss had done, and resorted to taping the cat flap open so they got used to going through it, and after about 4 days, took the tape off.

It was a bit chilly, but it worked!

im not sure what i think of my own idea here.... but you could put the cat out, open the flap and put some really tempting food on the inside and dont open the door. the cat will get hungry enough to jump through for the tasty morsels on the inside dont you think?
