insect attacking bugs

I have recently noticed a brown insect in our garden which latches onto bees, I do not know if it is eating them, but if I am able to separate them the bee is dead. I am curious if there are any known bugs that kill bees as I have not heard of any.

yes, I have looked them up and that is what it was. I had just thought them very strange as I had never seen them before.

It is unfortunate that they also take bees, as they eat a lot of garden pest insects.
