Will you be wearing a Poppy! Do you observe Remembrance Day! Where I live the Poppy issue is controversial, but I think all servicemen and women should be remembered!

Wear one.

Have a little jolly one on the car, as well.
I always wear a poppy.
Yep wear one.

Jayne that must double the value of the car ;)
I wear a poppy -only for the couple of days around the 11th -I also support the British Legion and their work (even tho i'm banned for calling the committee corrupt).

IMO its common decency/courtesy to acknowledge those who have fallen regardless of your personal political beliefs.

I dont acknowledge Rememberence Sunday as it has -where I live - religious connotations and I am an atheist.
yes

Ought to be made compulsory, too many innocent lives lost, inlcuding in the last ten years or so sons (and daughters) of a few dear friends. Makes me feel so sad.
where does all the money go to ?
yes i wear one bought it last tuesday at the garden centre whilst purchasing rabbit food

Am I right ?
I'm not wrong !
yes i wear one as .its a good cause which i should think about more often instead of just for remembrance sunday specialy in light of recent lost lives too.
Absolutely.
And with immense pride...
Hi Mary, yes I do observe Remembrance day & always wear my poppy! xxx
Always have ex forces, dont need x factor type programmes to remind me!!
I always wear a poppy (only a red one I might add) - so do all my family. We wear them with pride & in rememberance of all the men & women who fought for us in the wars.

P.S. Where do you live for the Poppy to be controversial?
I refuse to wear a poppy because I don't believe in funerals or commemorating the dead. However, that doesn't stop me from putting money into the collecting box, because it goes to help the living.

A colleague of mine once berated me for not wearing a poppy, even though he knew that I'd put money (including banknotes) in 3 separate collecting tins that day. He, on the other hand, told me that he managed to avoid all of the people making the collections; the poppy he was wearing was one he'd found lying on the ground. He failed to see my point when I suggested that my attitude might be be rather more positive than his!

Chris
yes, I will be poppy-fied.
Yes, work in a bank and we have just had our annual delivery - very popular with everyone.
Aww thats not fair -wheres my stars ?

puddi -seriously -what did you mean?

sleepy -the money goes in Scotland anyway to Esrkine Hospital -where they help to rehabilitate personnel ,take care of the olsd soldiers and also towards families. who have lost loved one, in the aftermath -with legalities and domestic issues until their situation is stabilised..Magnificent organisation -in the main unsung.
Everyone to their own of course Chris, but wearing a poppy might encourage others to do so too....
I have been granted a forward place in our local remembrance day parade as the godmother of a locally born SAS trooper who lost his young life in Iraq, I shall wear his beige beret with great pride and many many tears.
smudge -I would guess that Mary lives in N Ireland -that is just a stab in the dark.

Chris -good on you -man of principle -you shouldnt ever feel you have to go against your principles -I often personally help out -dont feel the need to wear the badge.I however on a personal note have pride in wearing the poppy.
