Does anyone know of a cat adoption sociey that places cats with elderly people? My friend's elderly Mum has just lost her beloved cat and is loath to take on a kitten because of her age but maybe an elderly cat in need of a loving, caring home. Can anyone helpwith advice please.? We live in south Wales and my friend's disabled mum is heartbroken.
Thanks in anticipation,
Chris.

you should try your local rspca, or cat protection league. they sometimes find it harder to place older cats.

we got our cat, Colin, last year. he was only 3 but that's kind of grown up for a cat.. and he is just lovely.

good luck :o)

Thankyou Sara3. I'll mention that to Sue but i think she has already contacted our local branch but no luck in finding a suitable cat at the moment. I have researched more in depth tonight and come across The Cinnamon Trust who care for cats that have lost their owners and offers help to elderly people who want to own a new pet but maybe cannot cope with the excercising etc., It sounds very promising and hopefully Sue's Mum may soon find a new cat to love and care for.
Thanks again for taking time to reply.

hi Dolly

dont know where you live but Celia Hammond is looking for homes for the cats she rescued, all ages I believe from where they are going to build the olympic village in London.

she has a web site but not sure of address but you can google it and contact her.

good luck i am sure there are lots of cats that would like a nice caring home. I do hope that you are lucky xx

I know they only have young cats on their website at the moment but if you get in touch with them they many know of older cats that need a home.
