Well, it's just the time of the year and I'm afraid you are just stuck with them. They do seem to be worse this year though. Just hoover them up.

What I hate is when they get behind the glass in framed pictures (goodness knows how) and there they remain!!

Actually, these flies, or 'thrips' don't deserve to die so i shall not be hoovering them, i just wish i could encourage them to leave. They are so tiny though!!
Hi,

I only hoover them up when they are dead though!

Soft, aren't we!

keep your legs closed. they should soon dissapear.

Also, these tiny thrips seem to love my cat's food. I don't know if they spread disease like bluebottles but i just wave a teatowel at them, and off they go!

Does anyone have a sensible answer to my problem??
Mine was a sensible answer ;o). Basically there is nothing you can do. I have never heard that they spread disease and only cause damage to plants not to humans. You don't want to kill them so what else can be suggested!
You will just have to keep waving your teatowel at them ;o)
fly spray
Never come across a fly spray that doesn't harm the flies though!

Loftlottie, my response wasn't aimed at you but you should have realised that! Thanks everyone! :-/

You see, i am worried about sprays harming my beloved cat but as i said, thanks anyway.
