My dog has fleas, whats the best and cheapest way to get rid of them?

Take your dog to a rescue center.

Oh and its free to do that you skin flint.
If you get the flea treatment from a pet store it is usually very weak and wont work. Frontline is available from your vets, but cheaper online.

jules is correct no shop bought shampoo does the job, frontline can be pricey but does the job!!!

Just wanted to add, that you may be better to treat the whole house. Soft furnishings etc.
You can get a spray from your local vet or maybe online.
just so you understand, you MUST treat the house too as fleas lay their eggs in the carpets, upholstery etc. RIP spray from the vet will treat the house, also treat your dogs regularly to prevent recurrence. Best way is not usually cheapest!!!

Thanks all! Thats what im going to have to do then! Horrible things they are!!! I hope there enjoying there little lives living in my carpet as im going to end it very soon for them lol x
Our council sprays the whole house for free, got it done a few years ago, so worth giving enviromental health a call to see if they will do it.
We just use frontline every 6 months now, keeps the ******* away!
