My granddaughter has lot of white butterfly caterpillars turning into chrysalises. Can anyone tell me when these are likely to 'hatch' into butterflies? Will it be next year?
Many thanks.

If your "white buterflies" are the common Cabbage Whites, they will over winter in the chrysalis. Many other varieties hatch from the cocoon in as little as a few weeks though...
