Hi, We have 4 hens that are 24 weeks old ( 2 x Pekins and 2 x Cochins) we are thinking about getting a cockerel to join them he's only 13 weeks old though. Do you know if he's settle in ok with him being younger than the hens? Thanks Bales147

Not a good idea to add to flock at this time of year. The breeding is over till next spring and the **** wont fit in at present. Better to get a mature cockerel for companion/protector of the hens.

Hope your hens a full-feathered. Time to feed them up for winter hardships. Add hot water to mash feed and u may get some eggs. Put false eggs or golf ball into hen-house to encourage laying.
