dangerous height of tree next to house.

we have a eucalyptus tree 5m from our house, it is now taller than our house, 50ftapprox and our landlord say's that it is not dangerous, are there any laws or guidelines that might help us with this?

That's a bit of a common myth I think about roots covering the same distance as branches.

I know Eucalyptus is not on the list but it'll give you a feeling.

I note also that they think the soil type is very important If you're on clay the risks are higher I believe
Assuming the landlord is not an expert on assessing trees and you are worried about it then you should get it inspected by a competent person.

www.trees.org.uk has lists of approved contractors and consultants.

Height alone does not necessarily mean a tree is dangerous.
