thanks folks. They are scottish so i was going to try haggis
They'll munch on a bit of bacon too... hang it over the side by string so you can remove it easily when it goes a bit manky!
^^^ 'raw' bacon

SupaStar - if you have nothing to say thats at all appropriate then suggest you give it a rest!!!!
Good luck with the tadpoles deepseadiver - hope they thrive, am sure they will!
mine eat the pond weed however there numbers are depleting due to the newts who appear to be munching them. thanks for the food tips i too was wondering what i can give them!
Mine always get a handful of pond sticks but they'll eat anything...bit of bread, ham, prawns you name it....just don't over feed them or your pond will stink.
Oh yes! Ours have to swim (or waddle along!) for their lives because of newts, grass snakes and I guess the fish (but not sure about that? Do the fish eat them aswell?)

We feed them titbits and thankfully a good few should survive.

They enjoy the fish food but have to get in quick before yellow beak the ageing tame blackbird and his family swoop in and swipe the lot!!!!

We used to have so many frogs a few years back, then suddenly there were very few. Hopefully this year there will be a recovery.

Not sure what my pup would make of a frog!! He has never encountered one yet!!! :o)
