Mucus in Eyes

My parents have a 5 year old Rottweiler who has been having yellowish-green mucus in her eye for about 2 weeks now. She's losing weight and doesn't move around too much anymore. They have a Vet appointment scheduled for her, but wanted to know if anyone had any answers in the meantime?

well this isn't quite the same but my cat had conjunctivitus which I wasn't aware that animals could get so it may just be something simple like that and the weight loss unrelated.

Hi both. tigwig, i was going to suggest conjunctivitis too! My Collie managed to get a case of Conjunctivitis earlier this year, possibly from getting sand in his eye at the beach, and a subsequent eye infection developing.

I couldn't suggest anything regarding her apparent lethargy. It is vital they get to the Vet ASAP though, she doesn't sound well. At 5, she should be full of beans. Especially a Rottie!
