For anyone thinking of getting a Border Collie pup and wondering how active they are, have a look at this, they are seven days (yes days!) old. They are well fed by mum and do sleep well, but when awake are extremely active even trying to climb the puppy run fence!

They are gorgeous and I love the way their little tails are wagging so hard! I would love one but I don't have the time to give them the sort of exercise they need so it would be cruel.

pls remember all pups are georgous, I have yet to see a pup that didnt make you want it, but they grow into bigger dogs, personally I would not choose the livliest of the litter go for a slower one. Truly I hope they all find good homes.
Ah lankeela, so true! If more people considered breed when looking for a dog, there wouldn't be half as many in rescue centres as there are. A dog can't just be plonked into a lifestyle, their needs MUST be met.
Anyway, you have now made me extremely broody, thank you! Was that mum whose nose I saw? She is extremely beautiful. And the PUPPIES! Well, I could take them all. Provided I could give them back after an hour! They would wear me out.
Jack is telling me he was even more handsome a pup than they are...I have to believe him, I suppose, but they are so sweet!

Yes, mum is in there, pushing them with her nose. Someone with Italian Spinone said they keep getting enquiries for their puppies from people who have never even met one in the flesh, just because they have seen the one on Heartbeat.
Those pups are absolutely gorgeous.
Are they yours lankeela?
Must be hard work though.
My wee one is hard enough at times although we love her to bits.

No they are not mine, they come from a very good breeder who has show dogs. I have never seen such lively puppies at such a young age. I know they will be very careful where they let them go, making sure the new owners are suited to such an intelligent and active breed.

If you click on the name wigginer on the panel on the right, you will see another video of the dogs playing ball. See how the Blue Merle puppy always gets the ball, and the Chihuahua is always there, trying to take it off him! What timewasters.
ooo-they do look like proper little handfuls!!...imagine them in several months time ;-).....if i could have a dog,I would go for the most docile breed possible.
oh hell!!!

getting broody here!
Hi Lankeela!
My neighbour had to go away urgently on Thursday so asked me to look after his dog - a 3yr old collie! OMG I am completely worn out. I have a dog of my own and its made me realise how chilled out he is as this girl is a real live wire, wide awake at half 5 every morning and running round like a lunatic til 11 at night. She has such great character, so pretty and is sooooooo intelligent. However, Ive been lucky to have a 3 day trial and would advise anybody thinking about having this breed to really make sure you are upto it . The neighbour is due back this afternoon and im going strait to bed for a long kip! ha ha

Frankiecat sat and watched the clip with me - it tired the poor fleabag out and he had to go for a nap.

I really want a dog - but not sure if Frankie and Merlin would kill it or befriend it.

Puppies are lovely.
