See you got a couple of good places. Geoff Duffield told me that Gwen had withheld the CC from the dogs?

I had 58 entered, both tickets went to veterans and both reserves to puppies - nowt in between any good!

spooky Lankeela, I was just going to put a post on asking you the same!

When I had finished in the ring you were judging, but I did look over to see what you had got. Was quite pleased with my bitch placing as it was such a big class, but not so happy with what my puppy got, as I really thought the dog that was second was not Gwen's type at all, and to be critical it needed a bag on its head!! But hey ho, you pay your money and takes your chance.

Yes, only seen the ticket witheld once before, but to be honest, there wasnt a lot there, except my puppy of course!!!!!! But Gwen does prefer Tri's which was evident in her placings, even though the dogs were not that great in other ways. Got a breed club show on Sunday, then nothing until February/March now.

We sat at the same table for dinner in the hotel on Thursday night, and Gwen did not know me, so it was interesting to hear what she was saying she was planning to do. Didn't actually mention withholding, but she said she was going to be very hard on the pretty little sheltie types that were all fluff and no substance.
Really, how interesting. There are a lot of those about, and a few I can think of that didnt enter.

I think she was going on movement myself, and my puppy is so laid back he needs a rocket up his *rse!
Just being nosey..never been to a dog show. When you say (Lankeela) that you had 58 entered please reassured me that wasn't 58 different dogs (of yours) entered.
being nosey as well what show were you at and what breed were you both showing
Wolf - Lankeela was judging, and she had 58 dogs entered to go over, and give two lucky dogs 'tickets, otherwise known as challenge certificates. Three 'tickets' under three different judges makes a dog a champion.

A reserve ticket doesnt count towards the title of champion, but does give your dog its stud book number. Now thats another subject, basically it qualifies your dog for life for Crufts, rather than having to qualify every year by winning a first, second or third in certain classes at championship shows.

Dont think I have explained that very well, hope it makes sense!
Lankeela was judging Lancashire Heelers, and I was showing Rough Collies.

LOL Even I have never had 58 dogs! I was judging my breed at a championship show, and there were 58 dogs entered, over ten classes. The 1st three in each class qualify for Crufts and the top dog and top bitch both win a Challenge Certificate, then go against each other for Best of Breed.
Thanks Jules - I thought that she was maybe "Crazy dog lady".

I looked up her heelers when she first mentioned the breed and they are cute little things.

I actually met a guy yesterday with a black lab pup..a little boy dog. He was going to breed from him later on. He was under the impression that he could clear 100 per puppy born/sold.

After speaking to him for a few minutes I realised that he knew absolutely nothing about genes or anything scientific, all he could see was the money at the end of the day. He was a nice guy and I have no doubt that the pup will be well loved - but it is quite frightening.
You 'could' have been crazy dog lady!

Two cats is my limit - even then my brother calls me crazy cat lady.
well I think my friends think I am 'crazy dog lady' anyway!

I forgot to say that the show was Ladies Kennel Assocation held at the NEC, Birmingham.
I see why you call yourself Lankeela
