As I was sat in my car this morning I saw a woman walking a skunk on a lead! Are skunks the trendy pet to own, & are they suitable to be kept as a pet?

Wasn't she (and it) on TV recently? Where was this?

It was The One Show, but I think the woman was in Hampshire. Suppose they're ok once the obvious problem is removed!

I thinks hes rather cute =)

(That would be the skunk not the little boy! )
Surely it is illegal to house wildlife... It is in Canada. Hopefully skunks aren't the new thing- speaking from the veterinary standpoint, that would make the clinic smell pretty rank descented or no.
I didn't even realise that you got skunks in the UK.

There a few people who have ferrets and take them for walks on a lead. I thought that was odd, but a skunk?
As long as their scent glands have been removed and your vet is up for treating it , I see no problem with having one.
Apparently they are extremely friendly and love attention from humans.
