I was wondering that the other day, too! Cats don't seem to be affected either.
When my Jack Russell was a puppy her feet used to get stung, but now she's 11 months they no longer do. So perhaps they just get hardened to it. Don't know about the nose though.
they seem to get cassie on her tummy shes a beagle but she is a wuss if she stands on a thistle she hops till i look at her foot and tell her its better. i know ive made her like it. i had her as a puppy a week before my mum died and it was having to look after a new puppy that got me through the first few months of losing my mum
