sounds like she needs more fibre in her diet - what food does she have? Does she have problems with her anal glands, or have you had them emptied recently.

regarding the cystitis does she have blood in her urine, she could have bladder stones, which can sometimes be cured with a special diet, think I would be inclined to try a different vet for a second opinion.

How old is your dog?
Cystitis wouldn't stop her doing number two's. If it is cystisis, try cranberry tablets, the human variety from the chemist or health food shop.

I would definitely take her back to the vets for further investigation.
Just read on 'Pets' that this dog is 14 years old. While some dogs can live to a good few years older it is possible that your dog's system is starting to 'shut down' and I would be guided by your vet to ensure that any treatment is prolonging her quality of life.

Poor dog. I would take her to the vet immediately.
