Hi,we breed budgies and cockatiels and as these birds spend alot of time perched they sometimes get what is called Bumble Foot. Its like a pressure sore.If it is this then you can do a few things to help, apart from seeking your vets advice.........make sure the perches are clean and vary the thickness of them.Perches should be wide/thick enough so as when your bird is perched its nails do not touch the back of the foot as it is sat on it.
In other words when sat and the foot is round the perch it doesnt meet underneath.
A good antibiotic for birds is Baytrill, this is a wide spectrum antibiotic and you use 0.25ml to 25ml of water, you will maybe have to get it from your vets.
If it is a cyst then you DO NEED TO TAKE IT to see your vet.Regards.
