Comparison between the birds in the U.K. and here in the U.S. indicate average life span in the U.K. to be 14 years but about 18 years in the U.S. This could be attributed to the size of populations of the birds, the U.S. population being significantly higher than the U.K.'s, especially here in the western U.S.
