Really it's hard to say without seeing what the bites look like. Do you know if he has an allergy to flea bites. When they go very scabby thats often what it is. Even with regular frontline use you can still have this problem in an enviroment with lots of fleas (like kennels). My dog has a bad flea allergy and we have to keep up the frontline treatment and treat our home religiously.
Frontline wont stop fleas biting him, if a flea jumps on to his coat whilst at the kennel, the flea will bite him still, however it will stop him being infested with them. I would be tempted to get him to the vet and get him checked out and if necessary a written report to show to the kennel.
On your trip to the vet tomorrow, it may be worth your while asking about 'Stronghold' its a spot-on treatment like Frontline but covers a wider spectrum including mange, I believe. Good Luck Tbird+

thanks for all your advice .

We trotted off to the vet this morning and she seemed to think Alfie had been bitten tho not sure by what !
Anyway he is on a 10 day course of anti biotics and i have some anti biotic cream to apply to the sores because she said they had become infected quite badly.

Hopefully he will be looking his handsome self again soon
