How often should a dog have a bath?

Just let your nose tell you ... if it smells then bath it!
Not too often - it can strip the oils from their hair which stops their coats from repelling water (to some extent) and can give them skin conditions. As WendyW says - if there ain;t a problem then don't was them would be a rule - your nose (or eyes) will tell you. We have ours professionally groomed 4 times a year to ensure coat is clean, clipped and claws and paws are OK.
If you feed it right and groom it right them it wil never need a bath, unless it has a 'woolly' coat rather than the more usual hair. Mud will dry and can be brushed off - anything else can be removed with a wet cloth.
our vet says it doesn't matter how may times you bath your dog at the momment we have to do it thre times a week due to a mite infection
