Are they are species of animals that live within zoos or safari parks etc, but no longer exist in the wild?

Prewalski's horses. They're extinct in the wild, but there is a thriving population in captivity.

And you're more "man made" species, such as ligers and tigons (tigers bred with lions), they would never happen in the wild, but they do in zoos.

I think I saw a programme a few years ago about some prewalskis horses being released into the wild, but how they got on I don't know.

Thanks for that. I've never heard of those horses before.
