I've always preffered mongrels, I genuinely don't see the need to pay a fortune for a dog specifically bred when there's loads of unwanted ones in shelters, I always gravitate towards the ugliest dog there because I think no one else will want it!
dalmations and old english sheep dogs
I love Weimeraners and Vizlas they are stunning dogs to look at! and I also like Jack russles because they are so fiesty.

i also agree with boo, mongrels deserve good homes to.

We've got a weimeraner - lovely dog, totally different to our previous one who could be a bit nasty. Before that had an English setter.

Can't be doing with silly little rat-on-a-shoestring dogs

Springer Spaniels for me
dachies-loyal, intelligent with huge hearts -big dogs in little bodies!

Ugly_bob I agree with you about Weims being lovely, mine has such a strong character I couldn't be without him. my other half said that there is no way that he could ever have a small dog he was happy when we saw the parents of our dog and he saw how big they were.

mongrels are all very nice to my auntie always has them and she always gets them from the dogs home I don't think she has had a puppy since she and my dad had a Yellow Lab and a GSD when they were little.

boxers and labs are my favs.
i agree with u mandie, my dad has rescued a lurcher and a greyhound from the retired greyhound trust, we also have a greyhound from the trust. beautiful dogs with fantastic temperaments
I love mongrels, they seem to get on with whatever life throws at them, they also seem to live longer than the peds, I have had two muttley's that have lived past 16, have yet to have a ped that lived past 11. Have had Rotts and Akita's and I love them all.
I like most dog breeds but my favourite is the Alsatian and terriers come a close second.
We have a GSD Lab cross and he is a dear old boy.Ten years old now and still going strong. My previous dog was a Norfolk terrier and he lived to the ripe old age of 17.

What about the loverable old Staffie (preferably brindle or golden (red))

I've only ever had one dog, my border collie. Got her when she was ten weeks old and fell in love with her immediately, bought her for 110 from a family who owned her Mum. There seemed to be a rise in popularity in collies in my local area after I got Holly but very few people persevered and still have them. They need a lot of input because they are essentially working dogs, but we have given her lots of love and attention and she's as good as gold, and I wouldn't be without her.

Boxers :o)
German Shepherds and Retrievers for me.

I too love mutts, my dog now is 17 years old, we got her from the rescue centre when she was just 9 weeks old, she is a totally wonderful dog in every respect.

But getting dogs this way can have its drawbacks, I advised my friends to get a rescue dog 2 years ago. We chose an adorable little puppy. He has now grown into a huge monster, who eats her out of house and home. Just goes to show picking a puppy with small feet doesn't mean a thing.

for me it has to be german shepherds,i have two at moment the one came from a rescue centre in a bad way not many people were intrested in him ,my third dog is a border collie another great breed
i have had lots of dogs, springers, dalmatians, shepards, field setters but the nicest one i have had was otis my irish setter sadly he passed over to doggie heaven a couple of months ago.
