Hi, I've recently, 2 weeks ago got a cat and am taking her to the Vets on Friday just for a check up. Anyone any rough ideas as to how much this will cost. Thanks in advance

Could range from 16 - 25. All depends how expensive the vet is.

As Eastender says it varies depending on the vet. I'd suggest you call them and ask. The receptionist should be able to tell you how much they will charge for a standard check-up.

on top of that you will have injections and possibly neutering.
Sometimes check ups are done by Vetinary Nurses (they are at my vets). These are cheaper and the nurse will call upon the vet if any problems show up.

Your best bet is to phone for a quote. As has been mentioned, there may be other costs (for example, the vet may recommend worming her, or he may discover problems which need further investigation ... etc etc), but the receptionist will be able to tell you how much the basic fee will be to start with.

Don't be afraid to ask how much things are going to cost with your vet. They're quite used to discussing fees with clients, and it means they can arrange the best possible treatment for your pet without running up a bill that you can't possibly pay.

Hopefully she'll pass her health check with flying colours and none of what I have just written will be relevant anyway! Good luck.
