My sisters cat has started to pee on clothes, bath mat ect. she has no signs of any illness, seems happy and relaxed, and has ample oppertunity to use the litter tray.she is about 10 years old and has always had the company of it's sister cat. they both seem to have become quite territorial and fight a lot with each other. Any ideas as to why this could be happening could it just be going senile. Hope this isn't the end of poor pussy !

There could be a couple of reasons why, first get her checked medically for problems she is getting old, she may have a problem holding it when she sleeps or naps, and she may leak, she won't always show weakness since she is in a fight with her sis, she wouldn't want to show weakness. Since a fight is going on she may have been startled and has now an aversion to the box.

It can help answer more for you.

Could be a territorial thing, cats can start to feel vulnerable and start marking things by peeing on them, my cat has started wetting the floor next to the litter tray, and I think it could be because the cat from next door has started coming in. mind you my cat is 18, so your sister's cat is a young un', relatively!
