A tarantula is a type of spider not a size, i'm fairly sure there is some poor little runted tarantula out there feeling very hurt somewhere. Large spiders in one's house holds are called (for lack of precise knowledge of species) dirty great hairy buggers. But don't kill em i think they are cutesome.
Agree with espoir. They are not only cutesome (cute word), they also perform the very handy job of getting rid of those other nasty little beasties - the ones that we don't recognise - lurking in our abodes. I live next to a stream so have lots of little visitors and I call all the spiders in my house Herbie!
