indeed, so heartwarming.
shame about the eye, but good that he has his home now.
Lovely. How is Toby doing
Question Author
Hi calmck...Toby is doing ok. He's still hiding. Sometimes in his catcave, sometimes under the chair. He comes out if I say "chicken", or rattle the dry food. He's playful in the mornings...so he's relaxing a bit. He'll come out and sit near me, but still no touching. I tried stroking him with a grooming glove...he flinched. But at least he comes near me...I can hear the little gears turning in his cat brain ;))...thanks for asking.
You give love to an animal, mostly you get love.
Give love to a human, you often get hurt. Not always, but often.
Lucky Apollo and well done to the rescuers.
Awwwww! :-)
Re Toby have you put one of your unwashed sweaters in his cat cave as a bed so he will always be aware of your scent.

Thanks for the reminder...I did that in the beginning. I'll find a tee to put in there.
Earlier the little dirtbag decided to take a few swipes at my hand when I fed him some chicken today. It's an afternoon ritual and I was later than usual. I suspect he was saying "gimme! That's mine...and I'm hungry!"
I love a happy ending. Beautiful boy.
Question Author
I blubbed my way through that video...poor boy was too scared to argue. He's a beauty now.
Aww, that's lovely!
handsum but .... wot color will his kits be ;)
Question Author
He won't have any kits, as I'm sure he was neutered by the rescue charity. That saves other unwanted kittens ending up as he did before being rescued.
Rescues usually neuter all animals before letting them be adopted
Seems like you have the patience for Toby to learn to trust
Re the colour of kits it would also depend on the mum. We had four from ginger and white mum. One calico female, one male blue eyed, short hair grey and white, one long hair white and grey Persian type and one mainly grey with white, short hair blue eyed female
Question Author
I think I read somewhere that there can be more than one father contributing to a litter.
I don't ordinarily have patience calmck, but I'm committed to Toby. He's stuck with me!
I rescued a cat in terrible condition several years ago. After the vet did what she could, I brought her home. For the first year or so she was spooked if you walked up behind her. When she showed up in our neighborhood she was declawed and neutered, so she had been someone's pet. Fast forward 18 months and a friend looked at her and said ' why she's a himalayan kitty!' and we realized that she was.

Had her now for 5-6 years and she is a hoot. She plays like a kitten even tho she is 11 or so. Her coat is lovely and she a high maintenance princess, goes to her groomer every 4 weeks to keep her coat beautiful. In the last year, she decided to become a lap cat. She had never sat on us before but suddenly that's where wants to be A LOT.

I would never have expected her to be a very attractive cat but she fooled us! Best personality of any cat we have ever had - I see why owners of Himmys will often adopt more of that breed even tho they DO demand a lot of grooming and brushing and bathing - their personalities are so much fun, the high maintenance is well worth it!
