I seem to remember reading that a spider puts blobs of 'glue' on the strands of a web as it builds it. Each spider uses a different pattern for the blobs, so it knows where the blobs are and thus doesn't get stuck. Upshot is, if you put a spider onto another spiders web, it should get stuck.
