Would You Pick Up Dog Poo From The Street Not Being A Dog Owner?

If you are not a dog owner, would you ever contemplate picking up some poo from the street just to be a charitable or helpful person?

I personally wouldn't. At best I could use a thin napkin but considering I don't own a mutt I don't carry little plastic bags around that are designed for the purpose of picking up turds.

You sometimes see in forests and fields people who walk their dogs pick up the dog poo, put it into plastic bag then sling it in a tree. Would you ever pick one of these off the tree and put them into the bin?

I have done it before now, TD. Some poor young woman was walking her parents Retriever when it suddenly crouched at the end of my drive and had liquid diarrohea. The girl was mortified. I told her I would clean it up for her and she was incredulous at my offer. But I cleaned it ll away and disinfected the pavement. A simple enough favour from one dog lover to another.
have picked up several lots usually on my shoes .
Yes and I have done so. I don't pick up every one I see but if there was one near me when I was picking up after my own dog then I would clean that up at the same time. As to bags hanging on trees, where I used to live and walked in the countryside where there were no bins, quite a few of us would go on a round trip and instead of carrying the bags all the way round, yes we would hang them up and then collect them on the way back home.

Well you can't go picking up liquid, sounds like a bucket of water job. Slightly different to pocketing some misc turd until you find your next bin.
Yes I would, incase a child picked it up first
Question Author
Well if a child picked it up that wouldn't reflect on you Bobbi for not picking it up. Adults tend to know better.
But then if I picked up, the child couldn’t
If I was picking up litter which I often do down our lane and I'd got gloves and bags, yes.

I would move bags hanging on hedges/fences if I saw any where there were livestock because they are potentially dangerous.

Otherwise, no I wouldn't.
"pocketing" TD? No way!
I’m a dog owner and I wouldn’t pick up after another dog. I have offered a poo bag to an offending owner, but wouldn’t actually pick up another dogs poo.
My cousins wife does, and very public spirited it is of her too.
TD, one can shovel up liquid stuff and place in a bag in a bucket.
Do us all a favour and think before you type.

Why would I want to think about liquid dog *** being picked up with a shovel? I assumed you'd just get a bucket of water and try move it to the near by drain.

Those who would pick up dog deification II can say that you are better citizens than I.

I would happily join a litter picking session or help my neighbours but I do not pick up misc poo. As mentioned, I don't have a bag on me ever. I usually have gloves for any emergency first aid that may need doing so I probably wouldn't waste them picking up *** either to be honest.
I reside in a rather tiny quaint idyllic village in which, on a warm summer day, you can actually hear the buzzing of the bees in the cigarette trees. Unfortunately, in this village there resides a rather gormless post-man who is quite adept at leaving parcel notifications at the wrong houses, so when I observe random dog-poos on the ground whilst taking my dog for walkies, I pick them up and deliver them through the aforementioned post-man's letter slot.
Aww I had visions of postman Pat and Jess ,his black n white cat in your idyllic quaint little village sanmac, hehe
"dog deification" - is that just reversing it to get "god"? :-)
yeah I do
It is good for the soul
and yes I think of kids and toxo
\\ I reside in a rather tiny quaint idyllic village.......//

what an uplifting and inspiring tale of village life.....
considering the rest of us think these villages are filled with thick smock wearing nobheedz
no way Hosay would I lift other dog's shiiite.
as a dog owner id offer a poo bag to them, liquid poo on or nr my property bucket of water and bleach if nearer, a hose down then bleach.
No dog, no pick up. I don’t wipe other people’s bottoms either.
