This goes a long way to explaining his rather unexpected suicide last year.

What a sad end to a brilliant career.

I LOVED Robin Williams. A very talented man. Very very sad ending to his life.
mikey - googled --- lewy body dementia -
I saw that on the news this morning. They also said he had been given three years.
Plus, he had Parkinsons Disease. Poor man.
A tormented soul in both body and mind, so sad.
yes but he left behind a great legacy, if anyone could make you laugh, it was him. I still have fond memories of mork calling orsen.
He was brilliant in Dead Poets' Society
Was his suicide so totally unexpected? I thought that he had some mental health issues. Depression can be a horrendous illness.

That is so,so sad. It's no wonder her took his life...there would have been no quality to it otherwise. What a desperate situation to be in.
I remember at the time, it was stated he had parkinsons but many who knew him believed there was some other reason for him taking his own life.
The dementia would seem to be the real reason.

Such a sad loss of a brilliant man!
Parkinson's and lewy body are usually related, I think. Some similar symptoms anyway...plus depression, anxiety and hallucinations, according to his wife.
wolfie what is your avatar - can't make head nor tail of it.
bless him and all that and Robin RIP - but he never made me laugh. And when acting out the lady in the movie Mrs Doubtfire- noooooooooooooooo - didn't find that one bit funny.
