Two days a year the shops are closed, it really isn't that much of a hardship.

It wasn't that long ago that shops didn't open on a Sunday and had half day closing midweek for market day.......how did we cope?

All bank holidays (whether religious or not) are a pain in the butt for shift workers. That`s just the way it is.

I assumed it would be normal Sunday hours. Luckily the local Tesco express had what we needed.

Well it's not like you didn't know it wasn't coming up; you should have got your shopping done before today. Stuff always closed on easter sunday.

But progress has been made, when I was young absolutely everything would have been shut Friday, Sunday and Easter Monday.

i tend to plan my shopping but sometimes you think wouldn't it be nice to have a wander round (shop of choice), only to realise they are not open.

the fox didn't nab a chicken thanks to him above - he nabbed it because the owner hadn't done repairs when they were needed, the day before. So how many shop assistants do you think she be hauled out of bed to make up for your lack of action when it was needed?

I wasn't expecting shops to be shut today- thought everything was pretty much 24 hour now. It's ridiculous to have it as a law. What's the purpose? I've worked today and I'm sure that wasn't illegal.
