Hello all, it's been a really awful week, My wife has put her back out & can't move, then yesterday we had to say goodbye to our dobie Clydee ( see avatar). It's never easy doing the right thing & my wife & dobie girl are as distraught as myself. :( :(
On the up side Clydee (rescue dobe) had a wonderful 11yrs. We rescued him at 18 months of age. So his life span 12 plus years is good for this particular breed. He's given us years of laughter, joy & many antics !!! His unconditional love & loyalty will never be forgotten. :) XXX

So sorry to hear your news, it's never easy as you say, but sadly has to be done. Thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear that :-(
A last act of kindness and love for your dog, Bella28. Commiserations.
Sorry to hear about Clydee - what a wonderful life he must have had with you all.
I'm so sorry to hear your news it's hard isn't? and it will take you a while to get over it.It's nearly two years since we lost Max and we still miss him
So sorry to hear this. Every week someone on here loses a good friend. You are not on your own. I am glad you were able to have the precious time together. RIP xx

Thank you Baldrick for your kind words.
Your way of thinking is spot on - but it's still heartbreaking isn't it? He would thank you for his care if he could. Best wishes to you both and ms dobie.

Thank you, so many kind hearted animal lovers out there :)
Big sympathy from me Bella. It is the right thing to do but it hurts so much.
Clydee had the best life possible with you and you both will have gained from your time together.
xxx
:(
Sorry to hear about your loss.

My "owner" was scratching on the bedroom door at 3am to come in for a cuddle, but I wouldn't be without him for the world...

Thinking of you at this sad time xx
(sniff)

It is always sad when a loved one dies - they have a way of getting under your skin and wrapping themselves around your heart.

Best wishes to your wife too - my back is mega sore just now so I empathise with her.

x
I'm sorry - it's awful, isn't it? Take comfort that you gave him a happy life xx
What a lovely life Clydee had with you all. Big hugs to his dobie sister. The pain will lessen with (lots of) time, but your memories of him will be with you always.
It is five years since we lost one of our labs very suddenly and I can sometimes talk about her without tears now x
So sorry to hear that Bella x

I lost little Blue at the beginning of January and I still feel her loss and that of Tigger who died over a year ago. The house feels so empty without them :o(

have just got back from walking Bella our dobie girl, thank you one & all for your messages of support, greatly received X
Sorry for your loss, it hurts, I know x
As I have quoted before in these situations - when you start to care for anyone or anything, there is pain at the end of it somewhere.

Part of the pact we make with our pets is doing or best for them, and sadly, that can mean letting them go becaause it is best for them, even if not for us. That last act of love is the hardest, but the most loving of all.

To love a pet and know they have to leave you, and you are going to make that happen - is the hardest aspect of having any animal in your life.

But you have to know - the pain of losing Clydee will ease, and eventually become woven into your life.

But the love you had for each other will never diminish, and that will help to ease that pain into the distance, while staying present and alive with you for ever.

The love will grow, the pain will lessen - it takes time, but it happens - always.
