Or daddy long legs, what ever you want to call it , as the most stupid insect . I know they are harmless but their irritability factor is right up at number ten . ( Of ten ). When they are leatherjackets and you unwittingly dig one up, boy are they ugly, then when they have wings that don't work, they annoy all with their futile attempts at flying past ones head. Then they drop dead all over the house, window sills, floor anywhere one has just cleaned. And they seem to be in abundance this year, or is it just me ? So along with the wasp they are useless insects...right ?

Ok guys yes I can see that, my gripe however lies indoors ! I don't get too many gnats or midges or cleggs ( what are they ? ) indoors so they don't bug me !
Yes, it's definately cranefly season, I released one back into the wild this morning, by holding it's wing and letting go of it outside the door.
Good fodder for spiders and the grubs are relished by birds especially starlings.

My most unfavorite bugs has got to be ticks, they seem to take, without giving back, exept maybe diseases like limes disease. A parasite if ever their was one!
Daddy-long-legs mock-ups are great for fly-fishing for trout. And those leatherjackets are irresistible to the fish if float fishing for trout!
I feel sorry for them, cant be easy to find tights/stockings that fit !
The French call them "Papa-longues-jambes".
