How old is he, what breed?
Question Author
springer and 1. he is a mystery to us. he is soppy and mad!
What do you give him that he CAN chew on? Young dogs need to chew to help their adult teeth to come through, keep them clean and to relieve boredom. Training and exercise will also make him more likely to rest on return home - you cannot expect a young dog of a breed that is bred to work all day to just lie around and be quiet.
I agree with Lankeela. Springers are very busy dogs and need to be kept occupied. Training and exercise are essential for a happy dog. Is he left for any length of time? If so, is that when he chews inappropriately?

erm. we leave him alone in the house but he has daisy the other dog and also he doesn't chew much when we arnt there. I think he gets excited and chews. any help?
the only thing that i found that worked, was plenty of walks, loads of activity toys, non distructable hard toys, and around skirting boards and wooden chair legs, Vic Vapour rub, he will grow out of it at some point.
