Owning a pet dog

What are your views on owning a lurcher from a puppy? There are 4 young children under 6 in the house. Do they require a lot of exercise? Do they cost much to feed?

Yes, they are gorgeous, placid, lovely natured dogs, my brother had one from a pup, he trained it to steal food from corner shops like bags of crisps etc !! He would wait outside and send his dog in the shop, worked a treat lol.
