Earlier-I cleaned out Caspars litter tray. As it was wet-I left it do air dry in the bath.
Later-having forgotten all about it-I could hear him frantically scratching-as he does(groan)
I rushed upstairs-dreading finding where he may have left his 'deposit'. Well-he'd gone and weed right right in the dustpan that was on the floor!
Easy cleaning that up ;-))

Clever boy!
My mum has one that use to do it in the bath plughole if prevented from tray or exit....
Our #1 has purrfected the hang over toilet bowl, vvv easy clean.
Sometimes there is a spark of intelligence in my two. :-)

I hate it when I have just cleaned out the litter tray and as I leave the bathroom I find the two of them queueing up to use the facilities.

I also have to watch that I put enough litter in the tray as Frankie spends ages digging away after going to the loo. He often stands on the edge of the tray and it tips over - I can usually hear him frantically trying to scoop the spilled litter back into the tray.

Both of them are being quiet and looking cute just now - usually a sign of chaos later.

Caspar gets right to the edge-and wees or poohs on the floor...grrrr! So getting it in a dustpan is miraculous.
Get a bigger tray pasta. Maggie always managed to miss until I got this large one. She doesn't miss now but manages to place it right on the edge, sometimes dripping down the side (inside not outside). Clever little madam.

He does sometimes manage to get it on the inside-when it's a bit less than 'solid'.....blehhhh!
I have to keep it on the floor in a quite narrow bathroom-so I'm not sure that bigger is an option.
My neighbours cat used to get in, and he did it in the bath
As soon as I clean the litter tray my cat jumps in immediately.
Pasta. We often used a small litter tray inside the larger one for cats who "missed" when we had a cattery.
If our cats get trapped in the house, for whatever reason, they wee down the drainhole in the bathroom floor.
