Just wondering whether budgies have times when they moult more than usual. We have had Neville for just under a year, just recently he seems to be losing a lot of feathers, he doesnt appear to have any bald patches and seems happy otherwise, eating and drinking well and very chirpy (excuse the pun). He also continues to enjoy flying around, although has crash landed a couple of times. Should we be worried ? Thank you for any advice.

if he has moulted out his tail feathers he will find steering himself a bit more difficult I used to have them and they did have specific moults
It sounds like Cherpies to me, I should take him to the vet for tweetment.

Ok Im sorry!! pop in to your local pet shop and see what they suggest, many are very knowledgeable on this type of thing.

Aww thankyou both for your help, I'll follow up on your advice.
My budgie "Joie" has a moult twice a year and a complete feather change. For a while his little head goes completely bald. Had him for six years now no problems.
Normally they only have one complete moult per year, but kept inside under un-natural high temperatures they can partially moult any time. As long as the bird is given a nutritious varied diet, it does them no harm.
