I have just brought a pony, he has been riding with me for a year so I no egsactly what he is like. I want to jump him with a lunge line but i don't have all the equiptment... Would it be ok to attach the lunge line to the head collar? People have said yes to me and people said no, and i don't want to take the risk in hurting him. So please help.

Use the recommended equipment here; a caversson. A head collar doesn't give control and could damage your hand or fingers.

As long as you attach it on the front centre of the noseband in some way, so that you won't pull him off balance and will allow him to be lunged in both directions without changed the attachment.
Sasha you don't sound too experienced so I suggest you get the help of an experienced person - lungeing is only benifical if it's done correctly and can be downright dangerous it done incorrectly.
You may be able to get second hand from a a saddlers ,some have a selection of secondhand, or look on their notice boards. Ebay also. As rsvp says, get someone who knows what their doing. And always use gloves. We always start training over jumps with a lunge. Starting with poles on the ground and very low 12" jumps with no wings, this allows us to run aside the horse until it gets the idea what is expected and gradually lengthen the lunge. Do you have instructor that may help?
