I'd give your vet a call if I were you.  A very similar thing happened to my mog and it turned out to be an allergy to the "cat gut" stitching used to close the wound.  Nothing to worry about - the vet just took out the stitching and we had to sluice the area with salt water several times a day to keep it clean.  This was many years ago now so there might be a more high-tec answer to the allergy problem.

well ive just come back from the vets and he said it was a little bit of fluid under the skin, so i booked hugs (my cat) in 2 see him nx monday for a chack-up....its best to be safe then sorry

gingerflaps - don't worry if it gets bigger.  It happened to my dog and ended up as quite a huge lump.  The vet even scanned it to reassure me.  It dispersed quite quickly in the end.

The vet told me it was because my dog had been too active after her operation, but my dog would not listen to me and refused to stay in her bed and rest!

it is possible that its a tumor, it could be benin, not cancerous.  it probibly is just fluid under the skin.
