Can I give my dog ibruprofen short term to help with a stiff front shoulder joint. The vet gave her a short course of Metacam which has now finished. Not sure if there is any improvement. It has been suggested to me to give her half an aspirin daily. Already giving her glucosamine.Grateful for any suggestions.Thank you.

- if this doesn't work just google in can I give my dog ibruprofen - or something similar
Try a bit of massage. It might be better than giving your dog drugs, whose effect you're not certain of. Try "Dog Oil for Massaging", made by Mason's Products, 2 Schofield Street, Durn, Littleborough. Lancashire, OL15 0JS Tele. 01706 379817. I've used it on a Labrador, and it seemed to do some good.

Thank you very much for both answers very helpful
No to ibuprofen or asprin, I have heard vets suggest the latter, but not long term.

Some great feedback for this product.

In the short term for say, an injury yes, in the long term no, as ibruprofen and aspirin, can both cause gut problems. Never give either on an empty stomach.
Poss fish oil might help. Dont want to put a damper on glucosamine but I believe some recent research findings were not too supportive for its efficacy. At least it wont do any harm unlike aspirin long term which can affect the gut.
NEVER ibuprofen for a dog.
Occasional aspirin for pain relief (half an adult one for an average size dog) but never ibuprofen or paracetamol. Not long term though.
