FROG OR TOAD IN MY GARDEN

Just been clearing some rockery plants and out popped this little creature. It was about 2 or 3 inches long (5 - 6 cms) and was a light brown colour. It was like a frog or toad. Don't know who had the biggest shock me or it! It then disappeared under some more plants. I don't have a pond or any water nearby. What could it be, and how does it survive.

If it was like a frog or toad it was probably a frog or a toad.

Was it's skin Man-On-The-Top-Of-The-Clapham-Omnibus or smooth? Did it hop or walk?
^ Ridiculous filter... the word was 'nobbly' but with a K at the beginning...
don't ya hate it when that happens :)
Hi Snags. Just fixed that. Shouldn't happen any more.
Man-On-The-Top-Of-The-Clapham-Omnibus
bloody liar Ed! LOL
Knobbly
Man-On-The-Top-Of-The-Clapham-Omnibus
It's Man-On-The-Top-Of-The-Clapham-Omnibus that doesn't work boobies but knobbly is ok... Personally I quite liked the first answer, quite apt...
I suspect scarlets fan is wondering w tf is going on...
ahhhh, apologies scarlets fan.
lol,poor OP
I'd say Toad, I've got one that lives in my rockery, it seems to have been there for years but I don't know how long they can live so not sure if it's the same one. I don't have a pond nearby either although there are a few ditches around. Frogs and Toads are basically the same thing apart from their choice of residence, ie one lives in water one doesn't.
Frogs and toads are true amphibians, they can live in water or breathe in air on land. As said already (using some odd words!!) frogs are usually smooth and a bit slimy, toads are warty and dry.
toads are warty, dry and they walk -frogs are smooth, moist and they hop
Feel blessed, whatever it is. I have a resident frog and it is clearing up my slug problem wonderfully.
The recent change in the weather is bringing them out of hiding in many places,
I want one!
Got loads here Karen. Shall I post you one? Frog or Toad?
hang on, go back a bit...toads walk???
