My daughter took a cat off her friend because it scratched the friends toddler too often, my daughter has tried to make it work but they have a little terrier and the two did not mix, I've brought the little kitten home, she's only 12 weeks old, a dark tabby, not my favourite type as they remind me of the ferel cats we had as kids on the farm, but of course she is a sweety and has always been quite confident with me at my daughters.
But Trisha has thrown a paddy and shot off and is sitting on the fence in the gardem glaring at me through the window, and Lizzy won't let me put her down.
the kitten is cowering under the pine dresser in the dining room and spits and growls if I go near.

Ahhh!!! under dresseer problem solved
please persist - this cat is only 12 weeks old and has already had 4 different homes!
Any time I've got a new kitten with other cats in the house, I've kept them separated for a few days (keeping the kitten in one room with food and a litter tray - and making sure they all get some attention). The older cats gradually get used to the smell of the kitten and vice versa - also stroking them with a glove on spreads the scent onto each of them. The older cats are usually curious and within a few days they are ready to see what new creature is in the house. It's always worked for me.
Poor little thing. She should be OK with a bit of time, love and patience. Life must be very frightening for her, shoved from one place to the next. I hope it works out for you and for her.
If you carry on at this rate dot you'll have a house full before you know it. I hope they all settle down soon though. Poor little thing must be wondering what's going on.
The fact that kitten is a kitten and not a cat is in your favour. The other two 'should' calm down and get used to her.

But - it's going to be a long weekend for all of you.

My brother seems to think that this is me!
Aww please give her a chance. Don't know you dotty but am assuming Trisha & lizzy are other cats, they will sulk, you know that, all animals do, but give it a bit longer, they may surprise you when they get over their initial tantrum at a new arrival?

130 cats ???

I have trouble with two.
aw, good luck dotty, I would have done the same.... and mine cats how would go bananas if I brought a kitten home. I hope it works out. Make sure the kitten can eat and sleep separately for a while, trying to compete for food against 2 full grown beasties can be really daunting for a little one.

lol I won't be getting any more, it's a big house with lots of room and they can find their own space, Trishs and Lizzy don't really get on with each other but they've only been here since december and both were rescue cats, this kitten was a rescue kitten to the first home and then she's been to my daughters, hopefully this is her last place.
Question Author
Trisha has come in now and has taken up her usual position on thne comfy cushion on the other sofa and is sleeping, Lizzy has started prowling upstairs as the kitten has done a runner and is in one of the spare rooms upstairs. Her name was Tinker, I need to sort that out
I bet that house stinks with 130 cats. The poor kitty will be scared stiff, try to keep it calm and separated for a few days dotty.
Tinker is a boys name. Lulu or Lucy are nice as is Rosie.
Only on Thursdays when they have curry for tea

I don't think she'll be too long settling and I've left her to find her own space, I didn;t really want her to be sent back to the rescue place, even though she would have probably been re-homed.
Dotty, I do hope she'll fit in, given time. Poor wee thing's had a bad start. It's great that you've took her under your wing (so to speak). :o)
she will be fine dotty once they have all sorted theirselves out ,we had 12 at 1 time and all got on fine apart from 2 females down to 4 now and 11 years on the 2 females still have a spat every now and again its usually the 1 with only 3 legs that starts it as well bossy little devil , well done you for taking them on
Question Author
Trisha has just brought a dead mouse in, well it could be a vole actually. This is the first present she has brought for me, do you think she's done it to show that she is a top notch cat and the new interloper is not going to be as good as her? lol
