Hi All
I'm after purchasing some external ladders which will easily reach gutter height (average semi house).
I know I can search the internet for some but I think if someone can recommend from here I'll be more confident of buying a pair.
Thanks in advance

Hi Slid .............. unless they've changed it all again recently, they're usually Class 1, 2, and 3.
Class 1 is what hire companies and building firms use. Class 3 are often so flimsy as to be uncomfortable to use.
Go for Class 2. "D" rung (cross-section of rung in the shape of letter D) are usually fine for anyone.
Also, rather than go for one just long...

Also, rather than go for one just long enough on full stretch, get one a bit longer. They "feel" a lot better when you're up there.

Absolutely top notch answer Builder.
That's why I wanted to ask on here because you don't get info like that when buying off the internet.
Thank you so much.
Around the place here in the U.S., I couldn't do without this Little Giant in the 22 foot model... Don't know if it or a similar style would be available in the U.K.

To add to Builder's answer, I'd go for one that will extend to around 3 feet above the gutter line when placed at the correct angle. There are some tips about ladders to be found here...

Thank you so much for all the useful info.
I'm loving the LittleGiant, we can get it here in the UK, just a bit pricey though!
There's a13ft one here on eBay but I guess that's not tall enough http://cgi.ebay.co.uk...L&hash=item1e5c87983a
All I wish to say slid_away is make sure you don't compromise on price for quality and safety. You will only have to buy them once. Do not live up to your AB name - please ;o)
evening Ena
Hi ttfn. You know all about ladders don't you my sweet?

Hahha TTFN, yeah your right, I'm taking Builders advice and going for class 2
A few weeks ago I was asked to empty some gutters of a bungalow ...
The elderly owner told me his next door neighbour who was 76, had kindly offered to do it for him.
He says ...''She's a lot better now...He feeds her cat and visits her in hospital everyday''...!
She only fell a couple of feet, but landed on her head..!
I'm such a nightmare I've fallen off the stepladder (twice) when I try to go up in the loft to retrieve stuff. Mr Helmet & my daughter have forbidden me from going up there unaccompanied as I'm so bloody dangerous! Yes I know - silly old bat!
To think I was just giving the op a serious answer! Evening boxy and lardy ☺
Lardy - you hypocrite ♥
Lardy said what I didn't dare, ttfn - ladders - fire..... ;-)
excuse me slid_away ......... har bluddy har boxy ♥
It was a very serious answer ttfn - people don't realise how dangerous ladders are (I certainly didn't before my escapades falling out of t'loft!)
