Train her or put the remote out of her reach.

How old is she?
Question Author
16 months but we've only had her for 3 months. We're trying to train her but it's very hard going. We do put things away when we go out but I was only in the garden when she ate the remote!
If you leave something in the dog's way that the dog shouldn't have its not the dog's fault its yours and its you who need the training, not the dog....simples. Eventually she will learn to leave things alone but it takes time. My boys are nearly 3 and will still help themselves to my tea or coffee if I leave the cup within reach.
Avril - have only just seen this and it has made me smile. Bless Coco. Reminded me of the huge chews I bought my Newfi - over 1 metre long, he looked like he was carrying a cricket bat and could not get through doorways with one in his mouth without knocking paint off the frame! The 2nd one he had he took behind the big recliner chair and was chomping on it for ages. I eventually got up to look and saw he had abandoned the chew in favour of a dining chair leg! Now try putting the dining furniture out of his reach - I do not think so. On another occasion (but the same dining suite) he came indoors full pelt to greet a visitor who had sat on one of the remaining chairs. At full speed he head butted the joint of the chair twixt leg and seat and cracked it - as the leg parted company from the chair seat so did my visitor - onto the floor. Bless them all ♥
