We want a nice name for our new arrival next Saturday, an Irish Wolfhound puppy. (We have two already, see profile pic)

For those not familiar with the breed, they are the worlds tallest dogs, (not necessarily the biggest just the tallest) they are probably one of the friendliest, gentlest and serene breeds and of course they are Irish.

We would like a name to reflect all of these things if possible, preferably an Irish name.

Please help :-)

My names are no good either then, but they are popular names for pets , apparently.

Briana ?
Gerry.
Briana......"noble, virtuous." The feminine of Brian
Beejeeezus would be a good 'un ! lol
Ooops sorry...didn't see it was a female.....forget Gerry then.
You could wait until the little one arrives and a name will probably just come to you. That's what I did with both of my cats (unfortunately, the last one ended up being called ASBO).

I agree barmaid, but as I'm not Irish, Irish names and their meanings will not spring to mind, when we went to collect our first Wolfie he was going to be called Gandalf but as soon as we saw him we changed it to Merlin, just felt that he was very magical, He is magical, he has been making my shoes and socks disappear ever since!
