We were in exactly this position a few years ago. We took our adult bitch to where we were getting the pup(male) and introduced them immediately.
A few of the comments already made are ridiculous, like the one from Bettyboo22 - no justification for that kind of action at all! The bitch will ALWAYS be in charge and the little sprog will be left in absolutely no doubt from the outset who's boss! Dogs NEED to have leaders and followers, a bit like we humans I guess?
Also, absolute rubbish from lankeela about putting the pup in a pen - that would create absolute mayhem - no, far better to let both dogs mix - the bitch will soon put the little upstart in his place if need be! And he will learn very quickly just what he can (or can't!) get away with. She will educate him, but how can she if he's locked away as if he has committed some crime?
I've had dogs for donkey's years - as long as you remember that they ARE dogs and not human beings, you'll be fine. Having said that, most dogs aren't stupid and learn quickly. Although, we did have a greyhound once and she was as thick as a brush...................
